Owning any firearm is a huge responsibility. As a gun owner you need to above all else, be able to safely, and competently manage your handgun.   You owe it to yourself, and especially to those around you. Whether you are on the range conducting training or taking your handgun out to clean once training is over.  Never take safety for granted.  Learn from professionals who will show you the safe and correct way to do just that.  At Marksman you will start off on the right path as a new gun owner, and you will leave training with an eagerness to learn more. We strongly encourage you to do so. Like our motto says, "Every Day is Training Day"

Don't let the Level I name fool ya! You will be putting some serious lead down range through numerous drills designed to cement the fundamentals into your subconscious, and give you the solid foundation you'll need in order to take your training to the next level! **THIS IS NOT A BASIC HANDGUN CLASS**

In this 16hr (two 8hr day) Introductory Class you will learn how to safely handle, and accurately fire a handgun from our certified instructors.

In the classroom and on the firing range where you will learn about:

  • Firearms Safety
  • Types of Handguns and how they operate
  • Fundamentals of Marksmanship
  • Range Practical Application
  • Care and maintenance
  • Review

You will leave training with confidence in yourself, and the solid foundation you need, so you can continue to advance your knowledge and abilities as a responsible gun owner. All while in a safe, fun and relaxed environment.

Upon completion of the training you will receive a MARKSMAN LLC Course Certificate of Training

Guarantee: Before our 2 days are up, you will be shooting with confidence.  If by the end of class, you feel we have failed to keep this promise, just say so in class and we will refund your money on the spot! That's our promise to you!

Required gear & equipment list:

  • Pistol (Bring a spare pistol if you have one.)
  • Magazines to hold 50 rounds per drill.  (Double stack mags=4-5.  Single-stack mags=7-8)
  • 800 rounds of factory ammunition.  Reloaded/Hand-loaded OR steel core ammunition is not allowed at MARKSMAN LLC.
  • Quality Kydex or leather holster that stays open for re-holstering.  SERPA and Soft holsters are not allowed in class.
  • Belt
  • ANSI Z87.1 rated eye protection.
  • Soft ear or Electronic ear protection or both
  • Pen and notebook
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Rain gear
  • Gun cleaning gear
  • You will need to bring a lunch
  • Brimmed hat and collared, long sleeved shirt is encouraged but not required
  • Quality footwear with ankle support. NO OPENED TOED SHOES

There is no minimum age to take this class.  However, students under 18 years of age are required to attend the class together with a participating adult.

Cancellations/Refund/Exchange Policy

Booking a class at MARKSMAN LLC is a commitment to train on your given course dates.  Tuition sale is final.  We do not offer refunds or credit to students who cancel or fail to show up for class.   We do offer refund or credit in the highly unlikely event MARKSMAN LLC finds it necessary to cancel a course.  This policy is firm and there will be no exceptions.

Disclaimer:

MARKSMAN LLC will not allow in our classes, internally-modified firearms once they leave the factory unless internally-modified firearm was assembled at the factory or a Certified Gunsmith. Additionally, we do not allow the use of reloaded/hand loaded ammunition or steel core in our courses.

Internally-modified firearms with non-OEM parts (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and reloaded ammunition pose an additional level of risk to those present in class. A catastrophic failure rate of home-built/internally-modified firearms is significantly higher than those assembled at the factory.

The following modifications ARE allowed in our courses:

  • Aftermarket sights
  • Aftermarket rails
  • Aftermarket triggers that are installed AT THE FACTORY or CERTIFIED GUNSMITH and not less than 3 lbs.
  • Firearms converted or rebuilt by manufacturers such as Rifle Dynamics, Krebs Custom, ETC.
  • Complete factory lower receivers
  • Complete factory upper receivers

 

The following modifications are NOT allowed in our courses:

  • Aftermarket triggers installed outside of the factory or Not by a Certified Gunsmith
  • Home-built rifles or pistols
  • Aftermarket barrels installed after leaving the factory or Not by a Certified Gunsmith
  • Non-OEM replacement parts
  • Aftermarket gas blocks installed outside the factory or Not by a Certified Gunsmith
  • Any lightened, competition style bolts or bolt carriers, firing pins, or triggers

*** Should you choose to ignore our policy, and it is discovered that your firearm has been internally modified outside of the factory OR NOT by a Certified Gunsmith OR, it is discovered that you are using reloaded/hand-loaded ammunition, then you will immediately be removed from class Additionally, you will be responsible for any damages that occur due to the catastrophic failure of the internally modified firearm OR reloaded/hand-loaded ammunition. ***
